How to care for your wool carpet

Wool carpets are popular in different countries. They are beautiful, durable, provide good thermal insulation, and are nice to the touch. Woolen carpets are expensive, so you would want to preserve the carpet’s shape, color, and beauty for many years. If you think about it, the question of taking care of a wool carpet is quite pressing.

Wool carpets hate moisture, so do not put them in the high humidity rooms. Also, woolen carpets should not be exposed to direct sun rays. If light from the window gets on the woolen carpet, try to curtain the windows, it will allow you to preserve the original color for as long as possible.

Like all carpets, the woolen carpets need regular cleaning. Clean your carpet with a vacuum cleaner weekly, removing dust from its surface. If stains appear, you should remove them quickly with detergents that are specifically designed for woolen carpets. If stubborn stains refuse to come out, it is better not to experiment, and bring the carpet to a dry cleaner’s. Professionals will select special reagents that will remove stains without harm to the pile.

How to care for your carpet of other materials

Nowadays, along with the woolen carpets, carpets made of synthetic and mixed materials have become very popular. These products, unlike woolen ones, are not afraid of moisture, because it is easier to clean the dirt from them. Moreover, some models have the special treatment that repels water and dirt. Stains are easy to remove and do not absorb into the carpets.

You can even find silk carpets in today’s market. These carpets are not very popular because of a high price and impracticality in everyday life, but these disadvantages are compensated for their great appearance. In order for the silk carpet to be in use for a long time, you can’t put it in high-traffic areas in order to prevent damage and dirt. It is best to remove stains from the silk carpet with a weak soda solution.
