How do you remove bright lipstick stains, if you have accidentally stained your clothes? It is quite possible to remove these stains, and simple means will help you in this.
Lipstick can make a girl more attractive, but if you accidentally stain your clothes with it, you might have some trouble removing it. Most of the lovers of bright makeup probably had to think about how to get lipstick out of a smart blouse or a favorite jacket.
There are several effective ways to help remove lipstick stains from your clothes.
The best detergents
Getting rid of any stain is much easier before it has had the time to soak into the fibers of the fabric. If possible, start the fight against the treacherous make-up immediately, by washing the bright stains of your blouse with laundry soap.
If you can’t wash the blouse immediately, use a high-quality stain remover. Pour some liquid on the stain, wait about half an hour, and then wash the whole garment. In most cases, modern detergents successfully cope with the removal of lipstick from clothes from a variety of materials.
Home remedies
If detergents were not able to remove make-up from your clothes, you will have to use ‘grandma’s’ methods. Before you remove the lipstick in any of the proposed ways, carry out preparatory work:
- Spread a clean cotton napkin or towel on a flat surface (such as a table or smooth board).
- Place the soiled clothing onto the napkin with the wrong side up. Lipstick contains a fatty base, so all procedures for removing stains are best performed from the inside out.
- Before using any product, check its effect on the fabric in an inconspicuous area of clothing. You should be sure that in an attempt to remove the lipstick stain, you do not completely ruin the clothes.
When the preparatory measures are over, you can proceed directly to the removal of stains.
Dish soap
Dish soap is often the best assistant in the fight against stains of various origins. It will also help if you need to remove bright spots from lipstick from your beautiful blouse. Apply the detergent on the stain for about ten minutes, and then gently brush the fabric with an old toothbrush, and rinse in cool water.
Lemon and baking soda
A good “stain remover” is obtained by mixing freshly squeezed lemon juice and baking soda. Dilute the baking soda with this citrus juice to make a thick paste and apply to the lipstick stain. Wait until the mixture is completely dry, brush it off and rinse with a cloth.
Ammonia
Quickly remove stains from lipstick from wool or silk clothing using ammonia. Dampen a cotton ball in the liquid and rub the stain, moving from the edges to the center, until it disappears completely. To get rid of the pungent odor and avoid possible stains, wash the garment.
Gasoline or alcohol
If you have any of these liquids in your home, try dampening a clean cloth with them and getting rid off any stains of lipstick. Since stains may remain after using gasoline, wipe the stained area again with a solution of table vinegar, and then wash your clothes
Hydrogen peroxide
If a bright lipstick trail spoils your snow-white blouse, do not worry. Fill the spot with hydrogen peroxide. Wait for the liquid to absorb, repeat the procedure if necessary.
Glycerol
Liquid glycerin will help restore purity to your favorite clothing. Lightly heat the product and apply on the stain. After an hour, rinse the cloth in saltwater.
Now your clothes look neat again, and there are no annoying bright spots!
